The Innovative Solutions in Sustainable Agriculture: 2025 Pilot Grant Program supports the development and testing of novel approaches aimed at enhancing sustainability in agricultural systems. This initiative encourages interdisciplinary, collaborative proposals that address pressing challenges in farming practices, resource use, environmental impact, and food security. Proposals should highlight potential for scalability and long-term benefits.
Applicants must be affiliated with a U.S.-based academic institution, nonprofit organization, or recognized research entity. Collaborations across disciplines and institutions are strongly encouraged.
Award Amount: Up to $75,000 per project
Project Duration: Up to 12 months
Number of Awards: Approximately 8–12 awards are expected, subject to funding availability
Applications must address one or more of the following focus areas:
Sustainable soil and nutrient management
Water-use efficiency and conservation
Reduction of chemical inputs and promotion of biological pest control
Climate-smart agriculture practices
Development of resilient crop varieties or production systems
